16 - 17 September 2023

With over 200 events across the country, Bulgaria will once again take part in the European Heritage Days (EHD) initiative under the theme „Europe, a common heritage“.

Each edition of the EHD has a common theme for all countries. This year it is „Living Heritage“. The overall message of this year's EHD is dedicated to traditional knowledge, skills and customs that have been handed down from generation to generation. This is an ongoing process and exploring it as an annual theme of the EHD enables event organisers to explore it in depth while promoting cultural diversity and creativity.

The calendar of the festive programme in our country has been prepared by the Ministry of Culture, as the national coordinator for the implementation of the EHD in our country, together with the municipal administrations, which for years have actively contributed to the promotion of the rich cultural heritage of the regions and the country.

Dozens of creative workshops, art studios, performances, festivals, reenactments, concerts, talks, literary readings, lectures, round tables, children's educational programs, etc. will be held in 60 municipalities across the country in September. The hosts of these events - museums, libraries, ethnographic complexes, community centres, galleries, cultural and natural sites - will provide free admission for their guests on 16 and 17 September 2023.

The national calendar of events can be found herehttps://mc.government.bg/newsn.php?n=8954&ny=2023&nm=8.
