Theme for 2019: Arts and Entertainment

Dates: 21-22 Septemer

Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September the Republic of San Marino, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2008, celebrates the European Heritage Days. The theme of this year is: Arts and Entertainment.

The goal is to enhance the knowledge of cultural and natural heritage, and make it accessible to everyone, citizens and tourists, with events and guided walks.

Nature trails for walking and cycling in the whole territory of the Republic enable to enhance paths, with a new tourist offer capable of promoting the territory through packages and initiatives for individuals or groups, with services such as guided tours specialized for disabled and all-inclusive tourist packages. A 43 km network of nature trails will enable passionate hikers to spend a whole weekend in San Marino. They could also sleep in the peripheral accommodation facilities, thus optimizing the promotion of natural and cultural heritage.

The San Marino Cultural Institutes will offer to the public with free admission the exhibition: “Chiediamo asilo e un po’ di pane – Garibaldi a San Marino” (We ask for asylum and some bread – Garibaldi at San Marino), in the 170th Anniversary of Garibaldi’s escape, a very important moment of the history of San Marino and Italy. Memorabilia and documents will be exposed.

After the long and important process on modern and contemporary Art that allowed to inaugurate last year the San Marino National Gallery, in 2020 MEDITERRANEA19 – San Marino 2020 (Biennial of young artists of Europe and the Mediterranean) will be hosted in San Marino. A presentation of this important event will be organized.
