Do we consider our trees to be as valuable as our ancestors once did? Ireland was once covered by a blanket of beautiful oak, elm and pine forests. Due to a combination of bog expansion and the arrival of Neolithic farmers 6000 years ago, the density of Irish Forests saw a major decline.
