The pop-up cinema will take place in Ilia’s Garden (former Rose Garden), on October 4, at 8:00 pm

The movie was directed by Kote Marjanishvili in 1927 based on a well-known novel of the same title written by Austrian writer Stefan Zweig. Actress Nato Vachnadze, the star of Georgian film plays the main role. Amok is the first screening of a foreign literary work in Georgian cinema.

In the framework of the “Protection of the Film Heritage”, a joint programme of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and Georgian National Film Centre the film tape was brought back to Georgia from Moscow in 2017. The National Archives of Georgia has recently finished scanning and copying it.
