Ivan Marchuk (Іван Марчук) is a National Painter of Ukraine, Laureate of the National Taras Shevchenko Prize of Ukraine, honorary citizen of Kyiv, Ternopil, Kaniv, member of the Golden Guild of the Roman Academy of Contemporary Art. His works were exhibited in European countries such as Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Czhech Republic, Slovakia, Belgium, Luxembourg, Hungary, Turkey. The works of the Artist are performing the function of people's diplomacy: establishing the place of Ukraine in the European space, and European art in the context of the world.
The impact of his paintings on the viewer can be compared to the effect of 25 frames, which primarily acts on the subconscious. And the artist creates canvases, except landscapes and portraits, exclusively on the subconscious.
The main goal of the exhibition is to get acquainted with the work of the Ukrainian artist Ivan Marchuk. For more than half a century the work of the Master disturbs the minds of the audience, turns amateurs into art lovers, and art critics into silent observers. Representatives of various branches of knowledge try to understand the secret of the phenomenon of Marchuk and the attractive force of his talent.
Ivan Marchuk is coming for the second time in the Republic of Moldova. He did his military service in one of the regions of the ex-Soviet Socialist Republic Moldova. In autumn 2019, He will present for the Moldovan public his creative work that consists of 50 paintings.
The event is organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova in partnership with Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and National Museum of Fine Arts from the Republic of Moldova and the NGO ICOM Moldova.
