Alison was a prolific Scottish Borders architect, operating from Hawick in the
late 19th and early 20th centuries. He designed many of the prominent
buildings in Jedburgh, including the Category A Listed Port House which is
currently being returned to its former glory by Jedburgh Community Trust. This
tour will allow a guided walking tour of JP Allison's buildings in Jedburgh,
as well as details of the Port House project. Please also see the separate

ticket here. A 'Snail Trail' will be included for younger audiences too. The
Jeddart Snail is a feature of the Town's history with the local delicacy of
Jeddart Snails (of the sweetie variety) being sold in tins. We have designed a
special red and blue knitted snail to spot hiding in buildings around the
town. There will be the option to download the details to undertake a self-
guided tour at any time too. If you want to knit your own snail the pattern
will also be available to download for free. Digital Resources Virtual Tour A
virtual tour of the building as its regeneration nears completion. The event
will offer people the opportunity to see the spaces created and provide
information on the traditional repair works being undertaken. The event will
be delivered in collaboration between Jedburgh Community Trust and Jedburgh
