Home to Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust, look behind the scenes into this water-driven mill. The mill, which once procesed oat and barley, was in use from at least 1715 until the decline of provincial milling in the 1960s. It houses rare working machinery and the largest working waterwheel in Scotland!
Look around the mill on your own or come along for a free guided tour (twice daily). Try your hand at grinding on our quern stone or get creative with our colouring activities. Spot all the 'mini millers' hidden around the building to win a prize!
Guided tours at 12pm and 2pm, both days.
Living Heritage includes traditional skills.
In this 10 minute video listen to Justin talk about Traditional Oak Carpentry - his projects and career to date. Justin was commissioned by Perth City Heritage Fund to make the replacement corbels for the shop front on 21-23 High Street, Perth, and kindly agreed to let us in to his process.
Discover how the water from Perth Lade powers the A-listed Lower City Mills.
