17th September 2021 @ 7pm Urras nan Tursachan, the Calanais Trust, invites
you to this online lecture with archaeologist Dr John Barber, who shares his
extensive knowledge of prehistoric architecture. The talk gives an insight
into how the imposing broch at Dun Carloway, and other Iron Age buildings in
the Outer Hebrides, were built and used. Dr Barber, who presented the
prestigious Rhind Lectures to the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland in 2018,
studied prehistoric drystone building techniques for his Doctorate at the
University of Edinburgh. The event is kindly supported by Archaeology
