Overview

In the framework of the European Heritage Days celebration in Georgia and the "Emerging Library - Georgia" project, Social Impact Hub "Effendi Villa" team and CitizensLab members (European association of actors of change) are planning to arrange a public event in Effendi Villa through the Living Library methodology and storytelling techniques.

The Living Library methodology is a tool that helps people of different origins and backgrounds to start talking and sharing their values, perceptions and feelings to challenge their prejudice and stereotyping. It works just like a common library: visitors can browse the catalogue for the available titles, choose the book they want to "read" and borrow it for a limited period of time. After "reading", they return the book to the library, and if they want, borrow another one. The only difference is that in the Living Library, books are people, and reading stands for a conversation. CitizensLab members along with local people will share their stories about their cultural heritage (e.g. the pecularities of their place (town, country), traditions and customs, family stories, values, myths, etc.).

CitizensLab members along with the locals will share and exhange their perception of cultural heritage dimensions in their countries in order to explore the historical and current tendencies of sustainable development.
