Get closer to the Polish heritage of landscape!
Get closer to the Polish heritage of landscape!
In this year’s edition of European Heritage Days, Poland invites you to discover its beautiful nature and landscape!
The national theme for 2017 is The Heritage of Landscape – The Landscape of Heritage.
We will use this theme to show the landscape of history and tradition in the natural environment, as well as the record of the human action in the space! We will encourage people to read the multi-layered content transmitted via particular components of landscape and explore its relation to people, because the cultural landscape was not created by itself. It is a result of human actions, knowledge, sensitivity, culture and the environment modifications. These processes have helped create Polish landscape, which we will discover during the European Heritage Days 2017!
This year’s edition is also an occasion to show the Polish heritage panorama, including the beauty of big cities and the picturesqueness of countryside. By using games and education we will show how the landscape has developed and changed.
We will pay close attention to the needs for space planning and maintaining harmony in order to preserve the landscape that we currently enjoy for future generations.
In 2017, EHD will take place across Poland on the 9th-10th and 16th-17th of September, 2017. During these two weekends, we are planning to organize about 1500 events dedicated to the history of regional heritage and monuments.
As the form of celebrating EHD is open, this occasion give organizers the liberty to prepare various events such as lectures, exhibitions of old pictures, ecology workshops, sightseeing, educational walks, outdoor games, historical re-enactments, archive film shows, etc. This year’s edition will present the great variety of Landscapes that are representative of the different regions of Poland.
We would like to encourage people to pay close attention to protect monuments and traditions which determine our landscape.
