Overview
A pencil drawing by Sara Lind Magnúsdóttir (5. grade, age 10). A hypothetical reconstruction of the Basque whaling station at Strákatangi in Steingrímsfjörður in NW Iceland based on recent archaeological investigations. Numerous structures dating back to the time of Basque whalers in Iceland in the 17th century have been revealed illustrating cultural contact between different parts of Europe previously only known through written sources.
