Под сенью Атлантов и Кариатид Жилярди. Когда-то наша школа-интернат находилась в имении графов Уваровых в селе Поречье Можайского района Московской области и считалась детским домом. Там жили одни сироты. Когда усадьба обветшала, нас перевели в другой район, в усадьбу Сытина. Но мы сохраняем память о пребывании в усадьбе Уваровых, потому что там было очень хорошо детям нашего детского дома. Как будто атланты и кариатиды хранили их. И мне захотелось нарисовать это содружество детей и древних героев. Атланты как будто поддерживают небесный свод, чтобы детям было светло и тепло. А кариатиды смотрят с любовью на сирот и олицетворяют материнскую заботу. Дворец графов Уваровых спроектировал архитектор Жилярди. Я думаю, что он тоже как бы предполагал, что его скульптуры будут не только украшать дом, а ещё и охранять покой обитателей. И поэтому мы долгие годы храним старое фото дворца Жилярди, наполненного нашими ребятами. [ENGLISH VERSION] Under the shadow of the Atlantes and the Caryatids Gilardi. Our orphan home was located in the estate of the counts Uvarovs in the village of Porechye, Mozhaisky District, Moscow Region. Only orphans lived there. When the estate decayed, we were transferred to another area, to the Sytin’s estate. But we keep the memory of our stay in the Uvarov’s estate, because children of our orphanage really liked the live there. As if the Atlantes and the Caryatids took care of them. I decided to draw this community of children and ancient heroes. Atlantes seemto support the sky so that for children would be enough light and warm. Caryatids look at orphans with love and personify maternal care. The Palace of the Counts Uvarovs was designed by the architect Gilardi. I think that he assumed that his sculptures would not only decorate the house, but also protect the peace of the inhabitants. We have been keeping an old photo of the Gilardi Palace for many years.
