In this historical talk, Fergus Carey will explore the importance of the Shannon River and its historic crossing point at Killaloe-Ballina. Fergus has a deep interest in researching and studying local history particularly relating to Clare and Limerick. He qualified as a local tour guide in 2024 and I has delivered numerous presentations on various aspects of local history as well as conducting historical walks.
