At the end of the first decade of the 21st century, Gornja Baraćeva pećina (The Upper Cave of Barać) has been included in the project covering the registered caves of the Speleological Association “Usus Spelaeus” from Karlovac and the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia. This cave is one of the one hundred caves in Croatia in which the local people used to build ramparts and adjusted them in order to hide from the attacks of the Otoman Turks.
