Alford Valley Community Railway (AVCR) is a narrow-gauge railway and a much-loved community attraction that runs from the centre of Alford Village to Haughton Country Park and back. Alford Valley Charitable Community Benefit Society (AVCCBS) was formed to get this attraction back up and running and received significant funding to do so. This is a community railway operated by the community for the community and visitors are most welcome to come hear about how the funding was utilised.
There will be displays within the Station Building, behind the scenes tour of the Engine Shed and an opportunity to have a ride on the train from the village centre to Haughton Country Park and back. A Doors Open Days experience not to be missed!
Train times from Alford Station: 10.30am, 11.15am, 12pm, 12.45pm, 1.30pm, 2.15pm, 3pm & 3.45pm
Train carriages are wheelchair accessible and noise suppressing earphones are available if required.
