The Old Basin For many centuries, the «Great Well» and the wells of Gayedon were - with the cisterns of the houses that collected water from the roofs - the only sources of water for the villagers of Allauch. It was only at the end of the 19th century that an elevating machine installed in the Blacassins district, then in the Marionne district, allowed the water to rise in the village, in the Suloir reservoir that will feed our city until the 1960s. Transformed in 1976 into an exhibition hall, the «Vieux Bassin» offers visitors multiple and varied events. Since its renovation in 2012, it has been enriched with a unique exhibition room. Unfortunately, due to particularly difficult weather conditions, the latter was, in 2014, extremely damaged. It was inaugurated after heavy work in September 2021.
