«Approach to the history of Lagraulet-Saint-Nicolas»: lecture by Michel Ferrier
Located at the northwest end of the department of Haute-Garonne, Lagraulet Saint-Nicolas had the Jourdain de l'Isle as its first lords. Several families succeeded them to the seigneury until the revolution, the last being the family of Vinssac who built a castle around 1745. The parish church is dedicated to Saint Martin. It was a priory under the Chapter of Condom. The church, rebuilt in 1590, is in ruins at the beginning of the 19th century. A modest church was then rebuilt, the bell tower bearing the date of 1824.
