Art Deco and corner buildings in Saint-Gilles (fully booked)

20 - 21 September 2025
Overview

On the occasion of the Heritage Days, the Municipality of Saint-Gilles invites you to discover Art Deco architecture, and in particular the corner buildings that have always posed a challenge to architects! Starting from Place Antoine Delporte, this walk will take you from corner to corner, showcasing different approaches to corner buildings — from geometric Art Nouveau to Art Deco and Modernism. Many architects tackled this fascinating challenge, including Paul Hamesse, Pierre Verbruggen and Pierre Meewis. The walk ends in style at La Belladone, a true haven of peace where timeless charm meets modernity. This unique venue combines an Art Deco café-bar with a contemporary photography gallery. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to discover the Art Deco architecture of the interwar years. In collaboration with Arkadia and Service Culture de Saint-Gilles.
