Overview

Join our National Parks and Wildlife Service Guides on an evening Bat Walk around the wood as we discuss and search for bats. Using bat detectors to help us pick up their calls, we will identify the different species living in the Reserve, explore their fascinating ability of echolocation, and learn about their lives in the wood at night.

Practicalities: The walk will take place around the loop in Knocksink Wood, taking roughly 1 to 1.5 hours long. This is an evening outdoor event, so we advise visitors to wear suitable, weatherproof clothing and bring a small torch. Please bring insect repellent, particularly if you are sensitive to midges.

Dogs are not permitted, with the exception of Guide Dogs. We look forward to seeing you!
