Behind the scenes of the Liberation of the Ardennes
The museum has the distinction of presenting in one place the three wars of 1870-1871, 1914-1918 and 1939-1945, which marked the department of the Ardennes with «red iron». It proposes a chronological and continuous visit, from 1852 to 1945, punctuated by a rich collection of objects which, by its diversity, reflects the reality of conflicts: heavy equipment, uniforms, armament, everyday objects of soldiers and civilians. The scenography is intended to be immersive and proposes a journey through time through multiple devices, for all ages, full-scale decors, set-ups, shows, etc. But more than a history lesson, the museum intends to use history as a lesson and to give thought to the two notions of war and peace, yesterday, today and tomorrow.
