Overview

Belfast City Cemetery is one of the oldest public cemeteries in Belfast having opened in 1869. It is of immense heritage value. Numerous monuments and headstones tell the story of Finance, Empire, rise of Northern Unionism, and the golden era of industrialisation in Belfast. Ranked number one in Belfast City Council’s Heritage Register of parks and gardens, the Cemetery contains numerous features and assets of significant historical significance and heritage value.

The event will consist of tours, heritage craft exhibitions, biodiversity and genealogy workshops and will see and hear about our new visitor centre and heritage project. Tours will be available on the hour.
