Overview

Exceptional works!

The pieces presented reveal the extraordinary finesse of execution that is hidden in each detail. Equipped with his loom, his threads and his needles, Ollivier Henry will be at the work offering you a unique artistic experience: a real performance to admire the art of embroidery and discover its quintessence. Ollivier Henry is an art embroiderer, a graduate and then a teacher at the Duperré school of applied arts - which trains designers in the fields of fashion and textile design. Curator of exhibitions on the art of costume at the museums of the Legion of Honor, Galliera or Maxim’s, specialist in the history of clothing and textiles, he was a consultant for the Comédie Française and created costumes for opera and cinema. His creations are unique works: each step of the manufacturing of a piece is handmade, inspired by the era to which it refers. For the museum of the Château de Malmaison which hosts collections related to its most famous owners, Joséphine de Beauharnais and Napoleon, Ollivier Henry and his students created a replica of one of the empress’s outfits. Thus preserving the original version of the risks of degradation, this exact copy has been displayed since October 2024 and testifies to the craftsmanship of the greatest fashion designers of the time.
