Besieged and destroyed during the Hundred Years' War, the castle has been excavated every summer since 2001\\. This research made it possible to reconstruct the probable shape of the castle and to discover an important collection of objects such as a weather vane or the drawbridge chain. As part of guided tours, this site allows to discover the work of archaeologists, the remains of the siege but also the daily activities of the peasants of the Country of France at the beginning of the Middle Ages via reconstructions.
