This year Bí URBAN is reviewing our NatureRx Rain Garden Pilot 2021-24 which built and monitored over 50 Rain Gardens in the Dublin 7 area. We will use the lessons learned during this 3 year project in the development of a guide for Individuals & communities who want to tackle local water issues using Nature Based Solutions.

This WALK & TALK will visit sites where nature based solutions have been built in our community to trigger a lively exchange about the significant rewards you can gain as a community from engagement in sustainable solutions to local water issues. We will also discuss how water has been used to enhance the beauty and functionality of cities historically and how the heritage of urban waterways can inform sustainable regeneration.

Based on our recent experiences building rain gardens in Dublin 7 with the support of a range of partners, we will also introduce you to the challenges you may face when building a community project and provide tips on how they can be overcome.

IMPORTANT
Participants will need to dress for the weather as we will be outdoors for 2 hours. The event is free but the purchase of a Luas return trip from DIT to Broombridge Dublin 7 will be required. Children are very welcome if they come with a parent or adult supervisor.
