Central Library
28 September 2025 (10:00 - 12:00) Stirling's Central Library is a testimony to the generosity of the philanthropist Andrew Carnegie and to the persistence of Provost George Kinross. This Scots Renaissance style building dates from1904 and was the first free library in Stirling. It is a Category B Listed Building and is not the first building Carnegie had contributed towards in the Stirling area. Central Library is taking part in Stirling’s Doors Open Day, pre-book a special tour round the building, including the areas not usually seen by the public. There will also be an exhibition of Stirling's Literary History to enjoy. Booking is essential as the library will be open by admission only. Tours at 10am and 12 noon. There is a flight of stairs into the building and the tour requires another couple of flights of stairs within the building.
