Overview

The chapel of Montplacé was built at the end of the 17th century, following a manifestation of the Virgin in 1610. Its size is impressive. It is adorned with a very beautiful interior and exterior baroque decoration and houses a polychrome Pieta from the 14th century. Terracotta statues from the 17th century and a painting by the painter Jean Ernou, created for the chapel, complete this decor. One can also admire a collection of a hundred wedding wreaths under a globe, offered by women in thanksgiving to the Virgin. Come discover one of the most beautiful chapel in Anjou whose history is moving. Guided tours and/or free visits with support. Access Large grass parking nearby, possibility to approach the chapel for disabled people.
