The house is known as Château Lauratet, the name of former owners who occupied it from 1876 to 1917 and did important work there. Once owned by the Kerveguen family, then by the printer Cazal, it has been home to the Regional Accounting Chamber of Reunion since the 1980s, when it was acquired by the French State.
