The old Comtal keep of the 11th century became a royal fortress in the 13th century and then the residence of the Dukes of Anjou in the 14th century. Benefiting from the name «Musée de France», the museum displays its rich collections in the rooms of the castle. Decorative arts on the first floor, while the exhibition Games and Horse Jousts presents a selection of the horse collection on the second floor. Rada Akbar, guest of the season, is an Afghan visual artist. It pays tribute to the tradition of Persian miniatures to create a refined and engaged marriage and highlight the power and resilience of women in Afghanistan. Bridge between the East and the West, between the Timurids and the Valois, Hérat and Saumur, the exhibition enhances artistic and cultural correspondences through a game of connivences with the collections of the Castle-Museum.
