Created in 1974, the Historical Museum is located on a vast colonial estate located in the heights of Saint-Paul. The main house was built between 1775 and 1788 at the initiative of rich Creole planters, the Panon-Desbassayns. The museum represents a vast heritage complex that evokes the prosperity of a family of settlers who marked the history of Reunion in the 18th and 19th centuries.
