Overview

The National Automobile Museum - Schlumpf Collection presents one of the largest car collections in the world. It covers more than 20,000 m2 and occupies the buildings of a textile mill built in 1880 and acquired by the Schlumpf Brothers in 1957\\. The complex has been classified as a Historic Monument since 1979. The museum contains different spaces: The “Automobile Adventure” space traces the history of the automobile from 1878 to the present day through 243 cars. The 800 street lights, identical to those of the Alexandre III bridge in Paris, were created at the request of Fritz Schlumpf. The “Race Car” area will transport you to the start line with iconic sports models. The decor and the sound effects will completely immerse you. The 'Masterpieces' area is home to 80 of the most beautiful cars of the 1930s. You can admire the two prestigious royal Bugatti type 41, including the Napoleon coupe that belonged to Ettore Bugatti.
