Overview

The cross of the Fargues, a protective tradition of the 15th century

The cross of the Fargues, dating from the 15th century, is a "rotating cross" typical of the Cordais Country. Local tradition says that it protects crops from storms: it is directed in the face of danger to ward off bad weather. Located outside the village, but on the territory of the commune of Vindrac (Tarn), this cross presents an iconography in round humping carved in sandstone. Today restored, it is kept in the Culture room, in the town of Vindrac-Alayrac. Informations Free.
