Commented visit of the medieval site of the ruins of the castle of Montrond
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, enjoy a guided tour of the ruins of the castle of Montrond, Sunday, September 21. Alix Giordano, historian and author of the book The Castle and the Castellany of Montrond Jura 1227 – 1490, will offer you a visit to the medieval site of the ruins of Montrond castle. You will attend a presentation of the remains and the history of the site, discover the genealogy and the different successive owners. We will also enjoy a presentation of the association La Tour d'Otton, and its actions including restoration works and archaeological excavations undertaken since 2017. You will finally be able to wander freely on the different trails to discover the forest and the geology of the Jura mountains from the various viewpoints. The free one-hour guided tours are offered at 10am, 2pm and 3:30pm. You can also participate in a concert aperitif on the site at 11:30 by the musical group Les Écervelées. A refreshment bar and fast food will be offered throughout the day. Informations Free access
