Private event:

This community project aims to create an artwork that commemorates the 752 soldiers from Co Cavan who gave their lives in WW1. During WW1 using creative practices as a means of therapy for convalescing soldiers was widely used. Craft kits were distributed to hospitals where wounded or shell-shocked soldiers were recuperating.

At this private event residents and staff from Oakview Nursing Home will be invited to create a heart in their own style using a range of mediums to add to the project.

The Courageous Men of Cavan community arts project will be exhibited in July 2025 at the Cavan County Museum in Ballyjamesduff.
