The Courageous Men of Cavan is a community arts project with creativity and wellness at the centre. 752 hearts are being created by the wider Cavan community, one for every Cavan man that fought and died during WW1. The hearts will be exhibited in July 2025 at the Cavan County Museum. In Ballyjamesduff on Tues 20th Aug @7.30 pm at the Old Court House this story gathering community event will bring people together to share stories of relatives who served in World War I.
We are also keen to see vintage photos, medals, and letters, and will encourage attendees to recount tales of bravery, sacrifice, and camaraderie.
We are planning memorabilia exhibits to add depth to the community art exhibition. The event aims to fosters a sense of connection and gratitude, bridging generations through the poignant memories of those who fought and endured the Great War. Refreshments will be served.
