En el siglo XIX, numerosos artistas deciden, cuaderno en mano, y con el fin de exaltar la grandeza de la arquitectura histórica de sus países y también de lugares exóticos, recorrer el territorio para retratarlo a partir del dibujo. 

El paseo a pie o en montura, la observación y la capacidad de síntesis, les permiten recrear, tanto las edificaciones como las grandes vistas paisajísticas, tomando notas descriptivas. 

En el taller de dibujo “cuaderno de viaje”, emularemos a aquellos artistas, realizando un recorrido por el paisaje monástico del valle de San Millán para buscar puntos de vista con los que reflejar, con distintas técnicas los múltiples aspectos y detalles constructivos, y estéticos de la arquitectura y su entorno paisajístico.

In the 19th century, numerous artists, sketchbook in hand, set out to exalt the grandeur of the historical architecture of their countries—as well as that of exotic places—by traveling through the land and capturing it through drawing.

Walking or riding, through observation and a strong sense of synthesis, they were able to recreate both buildings and sweeping landscapes, taking descriptive notes along the way.

In the drawing workshop “Travel Sketchbook,” we will emulate those artists by taking a journey through the monastic landscape of the San Millán valley, seeking viewpoints from which to reflect, through various techniques, the many architectural, aesthetic, and environmental details of the buildings and their surroundings.
