Overview

On the foothills of the Larzac, 8 km from Lodève, the site of the Domaine de Grandmont is a unique place in the Hérault occupied by man since the end of the Neolithic. The visit is a real journey in history: The Priory the Order of Grandmont and its cloister dating from the twelfth century are a marvel of Romanesque architecture. Go back in time during a walk in a natural park of 32 hectares overlooking the Hérault valley and offering a view leading to the Mediterranean Sea, one of the most beautiful panoramas of the region. The park is also home to numerous remains dating from about 2,500 BC: the famous Dolmen de Coste-Rouge, listed as a Historic Monument in 1887, and a megalith site.
