Overview

Dollfus-Mieg and Cie (DMC) is created in 1800 by Daniel Dollfus. The company prints then Indians, cotton fabrics of lively colours drawing inspiration from fabrics(tissues) of East, before assuring(insuring) from 1812 all stages(stadiums) of manufacturing of a fabric(tissue). She(It) dashes(launches) in 1841 into the production of the thread(wire), which becomes its unique(only) activity from 1898\\. This one continues at present and refocused from now on on some buildings(ships). The site, in the past real city in the city, includes at present buildings(ships) of brick, mostly built between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of 1930s of an undeniable architectural quality. Some wait for a second life, others made the object of a reappropriation (just like artists' workshops(studios) which invested(surrounded) a whole building(ship)) and others else were rehabilitated and receive diverse activities. It is the case of buildings(ships) transformed into hotel of companies.
