Overview
Opened in May 1991, the museum presents today in the castle of Saint-Beauzély a collection of more than 3000 objects patiently gathered and renovated by the volunteers of the association. Our museum is associated with the Musée du Rouergue and introduces visitors, young and old, to traditional activities, crafts and the life of our ancestors in the valley of the Muse. Discover the museum Exhibited in eight rooms of the castle, you will be able to:
- Admire the work of the sandstone by the stonemasons quarries tailors of Saint Beauzély, (specificity of the Muse valley), who built the ramparts of the Templar cities of Larzac, the church and the castle of Salles-Curan and many other regional monuments.
- Know the habits and customs of rural life according to the rhythm of the seasons.
- Understand the simple happiness of ingenious people constantly seeking to improve technique, gesture, work tool, in short to advance the standard of living of their family and their village...
- You remember a time, not so long ago, when black and gray were the dominant colors of classrooms and each student had to bring his log to heat the school.
