The Chapel of the Jesuits was established by Jean Rollin, between 1629 and 1640, thanks to gifts(donations) of chaumontaises families. In 1817, its facade was demolished(destroyed) and rebuilt in a classic style. The retable monumental of the chorus(choir), work of the Lorraine sculptor Claude Collignon, is the jewel of a rich interior design. The high altar is among the most important of kind(genre). There this one was included a high relief representing Assumption, executed by the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Bouchardon in 1712 for the high altar of the convent of Ursulines and dismantled in Revolution. Two columns of this retable were reused for the fountain Bouchardon.
