Discover the heritage of this hamlet alongside the «Friends of Cauduro»
At an altitude of 502 metres, this small group of houses is built on a limestone ridge. In the sixteenth century, the hamlet already existed, because an act states a marriage in 1630\\. The chapel and the bread oven of this period were rehabilitated by the commune helped by the «Friends of Cauduro». There is also a calvary placed in a stone niche and a well dating from 1723. The current owners, Michèle and Philippe Devisme bought their first house in Cauduro in 1970: 4 walls filled with brambles and rubble... which become their family home... (without electricity or water). Over the years, ruined by ruin, they gathered the 4/5 of the hamlet and consolidated it. Electricity arrived in 1976 and running water in 1986\\. In recent genealogical research, they discovered that Michèle’s maternal branch had lived continuously in Cauduro, at least from 1590 until 1840 ... Among the houses they restored, several were occupied by his ancestors!
