Discover the history of one of the first archaeological restoration laboratories in France
The Metal Archaeology Laboratory is one of the oldest restoration workshops in France. Located in Jarville-la-Malgrange, near Nancy, it restores metal, glass or ceramic objects using the most modern techniques (X-rays, X-rays, etc). Created in 1950 by Édouard Salin and Albert France-Lanord, the Metal Archaeology Laboratory (LAM) is dedicated to the conservation and restoration of archaeological and historical objects mainly made of different metals and materials (glass, ceramics, bones, etc.). Service of the Metropolis of Greater Nancy, it is installed in the premises of the Science Enthusiast, within the domain of Montaigu. It carries out conservation and restoration work for museums, cultural affairs departments, archaeological services of local authorities and the National Institute of Preventive Archaeological Research.
