Nestled against the church of La Chaussée, the Maison de l'Acadie traces the ties between Poitou and the Acadians, Quebeckers and Louisiana. The members of this association keep this museum alive while developing cultural exchanges with Canada and continuing genealogical research on Acadian families from Loudunais. Since 1984, this place of memory has promoted the history of the families who left Loudunais for New France under the impulse of illustrious local characters who left their mark on these territories of the New World. Thus, hundreds of visitors from all over the world meet in the small village of La Chaussée to reconnect with their roots. For this, guided tours are offered during the summer period from Wednesday to Sunday from 14:30 to 18:30 and the rest of the year by appointment via [maisondelacadie@gmail.com](mailto:maisondelacadie@gmail.com). The museum has just been renovated and once again opens its doors to the public with a brand new museography!
