Overview

An essential technological element in high-rise construction, the lift plays a key role in Art Deco buildings, whether chosen from a catalogue or custom-designed. During a guided tour of the Altitude Cent district, visitors will be invited to familiarise themselves with the Art Deco style and open the doors of a selection of buildings representative of the style. They will discover a sample of the lifts listed in the elevators.heritage.brussels inventory, which Homegrade is producing with the support of urban.brussels. The guided tour will also address the challenges of making these old lifts safe while respecting their heritage features. In collaboration with homegrade.brussels. Photographs are not permitted.
