The Platin Museum is housed in the heart of the village of La Flotte in a building full of local and island history: the Margotteau distillery. The Platin Museum has rich and heterogeneous collections composed of archaeological collections and medieval architecture, regional ethnography, art and popular traditions, furniture, maritime history, models, slideshows and photographs. Most of the objects come from donations from Flottais. The Île de Ré of the late 19th and 20th centuries is well represented to show what the territory was before the arrival of tourism and its new economic activities.
