Enter the heart of a fortified square and its 17th century ramparts
Neuf-Brisach, masterpiece of Vauban, was built in 1699 on order of Louis XIV for the safety(security) of Alsace. Neuf-Brisach is an unique(only) site in Europe, real model of defence of time(period) with the ramparts and the tours(ballots) bastionnées always undamaged, accessible(approachable) to visit. In 2008, Neuf-Brisach, member(limb) of the network of the major sites of Vauban, is registered on the UNESCO world heritage list. The Vauban museum relates the history(story) of Neuf-Brisach, of its creation in our days, and shelters a plan relief, of numerous plans and old(former) documents, as well as a bust of Vauban. A play exhibition(exposure) "Attention Fortified town! "containing mobile elements is installed(settled) to the museum and allows a good understanding of the defence system of the city
