Overview
The 42nd edition of the European Heritage Days invites everyone to celebrate the richness of our heritage on the theme "architectural heritage". This edition also marks the 10th anniversary of the Pays d'art et d'histoire from Senlis to Ermenonville. This year, nearly 30 sites and more than 50 actions are proposed to you on the occasion of the European Heritage Days, thanks to the participation of member municipalities (Mont-l'Évêque, Fontaine-Chaalis, Ermenonville and Senlis), cultural partners, to the associations, private owners and volunteers involved. On the program:
- Site openings: museums, Saint-Pierre church and its bell tower, arenas, Saint-Maurice priory, cathedral (tribunes, crypt and pre-Romanesque chapel), Clarisses monastery, Saint-Vincent high school, Anne-Marie Javouhey college, the station, Saint-Frambourg chapel, Francès foundation and a dozen private properties. - Project "Journey to the time of the first kings of France": Presentation of the project, conference, treasure hunt, visits to the great organs and stone cutting demonstration. - Exhibitions: Clément Borderie, Anne Berthelot, Alain Bouchardon, Hortensia Lagrange, Éric Roux-Fontaine, Wieslawa Nowicka, Art and Archaeology museum, Vénerie museum and Spahis museum. - Activities: 1000 years of the hospital, improve its housing in the historic center, initiation to archaeology, concerts, cinema and theater. - Guided tours: the fortifications of the city, the train station, the cathedral for children, heritage hike, sewage treatment plant, the Saint-Vincent high school, discovery of Senlis, valuable reserves of the media library, the Museum of Art and Archaeology and the Vénerie museum. *New action SCREENING OF THE FILM 'THE QUEEN MARGOT' As part of the Play It Again festival, the cinema in Senlis will screen 'La Reine Margot' by Patrice Chéreau in 1994. Adaptation of the novel by Alexandre Dumas, the film was partly shot in the old Senlis and at the Saint-Vincent abbey (Saint-Vincent high school), recognizable in several scenes.
