Overview
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2025, the medieval city of Saint-Macaire offers three days of festivities rich in discoveries, concerts and cultural activities. Organized by the association Vivre le Patrimoine Macarien, these events will highlight the diversity and richness of the local heritage, between music, exhibitions and enhancement of historical sites. Friday, September 19 – Place Tourny
- 19h30 – Presentation and intervention of Jacky Gratecap and Jean-Marie Billa
- 20h30 – Concert BB & The Blues Breakers (blues/rock)
- 22h30 – Pyrotechnic flare around the kiosk A festive moment to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the kiosk at Place Tourn y. Saturday, September 20
- 15h to 17h – Exceptional opening of the Clos des Cordeliers (3, cours Gambetta)
- 15h to 17h – Presentation of the murals of the Saint-Sauveur church
- 10am to 6pm (late night until 11pm) – Art exhibition of the Collectif Artistes Macariens (Rue de la Bénauge and its gardens)
- 20h30 – Great symphonic concert in the church of Saint-Sauveur With the UNISSON Symphony Orchestra and the vocal ensemble of the Mérignac Conservatory Conducted by Maria Luisa Aker La Franca – Soloist: Yuliya Popova-Brown Sunday 21 September
- 10am to 12pm – Guided tour of the old stone quarries
- 15h to 17h – Opening of the doors of the Clos des Cordeliers
- 15h to 17h – Screening of film clips shot in Saint-Macaire (Maison Messidan)
- 10am to 6pm – Art exhibition (Rue de la Bénauge)
- 17h30 to 19h – Jazz Concert with the OFF Jazz Trio at the kiosk (Place Tourn y) These days will offer the opportunity to discover or rediscover the architectural and cultural heritage of Saint-Macaire, while enjoying varied concerts, ranging from blues to jazz through the great symphonic repertoire.
