Overview

The history(story) of the Castle of Carlux is attached to that of the Viscountcy of Turenne. The imposing fortress underwent several destructions and reconstructions until the XVIth century. The current vestiges contain three terraces: In the South, the basis of a Roman donjon. In the centre, the foot of a tower and the ruins of a chapel of the XIth century. In the North, three pieces of wall fit tightly round a terrace with panoramic view on the village. In the North, access indoors by a door at the foot of the tower. Works on facades allowed the security of walls and the emphasising of the castle.
