Exhibition “Abrume - on the traces of unguarded huts”
The Callot Gallery, created in 2025 by the École nationale supérieure d'architecture Paris-Malaquais – PSL, presents the exhibition “Abrume - on the traces of unguarded huts”, inaugurated for European Heritage Days. Based on field research conducted by two former students of Ensa Paris-Malaquais – PSL, Raphaël Guillemette and Gauthier Delvert, the Abrume exhibition explores a fragile and little-known heritage: that of unguarded huts. These shelters, scattered throughout the countryside, often invisible but very much alive, tell the story of another way of living, building, and above all, forming a society. The exhibition is an extension of the book "Abrume – sur les traces des cabanes libres", published in autumn 2024 by ULMER. Accessible and educational, it is aimed at a wide audience: hikers, curious minds, schoolchildren, construction professionals, and researchers. By highlighting this modest heritage, it questions our ways of building, living, and living together.
