Overview

The municipal archive is a precious memory: that of Bazas and its inhabitants, preserved since 1592 until today.

This treasure, intended for future generations, is also restored thanks to the unique know-how of professional bookbinding and conservation.

The oldest archive boxes will be opened to the public in an exceptional exhibition: 📜 Deliberation register of the old Jurade of 1732 📖 Parish register of the 16th century cathedral 🗺️ City cadastre of 1831 📰 Old press, and many others... A special focus will be placed on the documents restored in recent years, highlighting the meticulous work of the restorers and bookbinders and the commitment of the city of Bazas in safeguarding its written heritage.
